At Candian Alpine Ski Guides, safety is our number one priority. All guides are trained and certified with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG). The standard for safety set forth by ACMG is steep in tradition with roots going back over 100 years. All our guides are consdered to be "keepers" of the ACMG standard and assume this role obsessively.
All guides are kept current in advanced first aid techniques and are equiped with first aid kits capable of handling common injuries that may occur during an outing. Guides also carry a emergency communication in the rare event that an evacuation is required.
Unfortunately, not all risks can be eliminated by Candian Alpine Ski Guides. It is therefore mandatory that guests be required to sign a waiver before being allowed to participate in any Canadian Alpine Ski Guides trip. Please read the waiver carefully as it is important that you understand your assumtion of risk as our guest while in the mountains. An on-line version of the waiver is availible for viewing with each trip description
All guest will be required to receive avalanche search and rescue training prior to any ski trip. This will include avalanche beacon search techniques. Guests will also receive a Helicopter safety breifing for any trip that requires transportation by rotary wing aircraft.
All companies that work with Candaian Alpine Ski Guides have extensive experience in their chosen vocation and frequently upgrade their training to the latest information on the effect of mountain coditions and their chosen field.
